This album was inspired long ago by my friendship with my artist friend, Patricia Shaw in the United Kingdom. She graciously let me use her entire portfolio of artwork to use as covers for my cds. I am forever indebted to her and have since lost touch with her after many years of correspondence. I miss terribly those days of carefree music and art creation alongside her.
This is mainly a piano cd; with some nature sounds added in on the last two tracks, as well as a few soundscapes courtesy of Alchemy software. I play an upright Bush and Gerts old piano made in Chicago and is no longer available.
Track 1 - The Last Words of Vincent van Gogh
Inspired by my learning of the last words of Vincent van Gogh recently.
Track 2 - Gifts from Cheshire
Inspired again, by my friend Patricia Shaw.
Track 3 - Pleasures for Evermore
Inspired by the November 4th entry in God Calling..."At thy right hand are pleasures for evermore."
Track 4 - Sophia on the Fly
Originally about 30 minutes long, I shortened it considerably and added nature sounds. Sophia is a goose I met at Pilcher Park a few years ago. Geese collect there as there are food and water waiting for them,
Track 5 - P.S. Vanished
Inspired by the absence of my friend Patricia who has vanished from the internet, this is my ode to her.
This cd is dedicated to Patricia Shaw, wherever she is.
The beautiful cover art is used courtesy of Patricia Shaw. She titled it "insect heaven." Thank you Patricia and I miss you.
"The sadness lasts forever." The last words of Vincent van Gogh.
