about

Here are some quotes I like:

The key to staying sharp in old age is in your fingers. From your fingers to your brain, and back again. If you keep your fingers busy, you’ll live to see one hundred. Taken from “Ikigai – The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life” by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles

The older I get, the more acutely I am aware that the vast majority of what is written remains unread.
- Novelist Jhumpa Lahiri

And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: Revelation 14:2

Track 1 – Spirit Sounds – Inspired by the February 27th entry in God Calling entitled Spirit Sounds.

Track 2 – Hush, My Heart – I like the bird sounds throughout this song. They were recorded at Indiana Dunes in early spring a few years back.

Track 3 – Blessed Days – played in G-flat major, I believe or at least my version of G-flat major. Inspired by my long friendship with Chris Beres. Chris is a wheelchair bound young man I worked with for 5 years or so. We enjoyed each other’s company and did many videos together. Chris likes to speak in public about his life. I intend to interview his mom, Kathy Beres. She has been caring for Chris for 46 years now. Twice as long as I had my son, John Peter, who died at 23.

Track 4 – Off the Sauce – Inspired by….

Track 5 – Escape – An older recording I like. Kind of the title song for this cd.

Track 6 – Gentle with Me – An older recording as well, inspired by the April 13th entry of God Calling, entitled Gentle With All.

It reads: Love and Laugh. Make your world the happier for your being in it. Love and rejoice on the grey days. There are wilderness days for My Disciples as well as Mountains of Transfiguration, but on both it is duty, persistently, faithfully done, that tells. Be gentle with all. Try to see the heart I see, to know the pain and the difficulty of the other life, that I know. Try, before you interview anyone, or speak to anyone, to ask Me to act as interpreter between you two. Just live in the spirit of prayer. In speaking to Me, you find soul-rest. Simple tasks, faithfully done and persisted in, bring their own reward, and are mosaics being laid in the pavement of success. Welcome all who come here. I love you.

This song was also inspired by this thought: The Lord has been gentle with me. Over the years, he has been gentle with me. I love the Bible story about the good shepherd who leaves his 99 sheep and goes to find the one that went astray.

A special thanks to my friend Patricia Shaw for the use of her silk painting entitled “Escape”. I don’t think I would have made 30 cds so far if it were not for her inspiring paintings.

This cd is dedicated to our new granddaughter, Lenci Aria. She’s just as beautiful as her name. You inherited my hands, little one. That’s a good thing. We have a lot of ground to cover…
